Capfield, a new specialist shopping centre fund has entered the Spanish market with the acquisition of La Vega Shopping Centre in Madrid’s northern suburb of Alcobendas.
With a GLA of 30,000sqm, La Vega shopping mall opened in 1996 and is distributed across 3 floors with an open-air restaurant & terrace on the top floor. The centre also has a parking area with approximately 2,060 parking spaces.
Capfield has experience as an owner and developer of shopping centres in Estonia where it owns six retail centres with a gross leasable area in excess of 80,000sqm.
Five of Capfield’s centres are in Tallinn and one is in the Pärnu, Estonia’s fourth largest city. In addition, the purchaser also owns a number of strategic land plots in Tallinn and Lithuania that are scheduled for development.
The Capfield portfolio is one of the largest retail portfolios in Estonia with city center and suburban locations. Major anchor tenants represent 65% of the portfolio’s GLA and include well-known local and international brands such as Bauhaus, Maxima, Prisma, Rimi, Selver, H&M, Deichmann, Pepco, LPP fashion group brands such as House, Sinsay and Cropp, Sportsdirect, Burger King, Baltika Fashion Chains, Flying Tiger Copenhagen, Denim Dream, Jysk, Euronics and Apollo book stores.
