Henderson Park has bought the Aloft Madrid Gran Vía, the hotelier’s first Aloft branded property in the buzzing city of Madrid. It was previously owned by Harry Mohinani’s Platinum Estates and is located on Calle Jacometrezo, 4 and will have 139 rooms.
As explained by Marriott, ‘Aloft’ is «the most urban and carefree proposal of the hotel group, which since its inception in 2008 has managed to open more than 150 hotels in almost 20 countries and territories.» The brand is «designed to meet the demands of a new traveler profile» and deliver an urban-inspired gathering place for tech-savvy Next Gen travelers and local residents.
Built over an old office building, «the influence of the urban style in its architecture gives rise to a 139-room hotel with the energy and dynamism of loft flats. The design of the Madrid hotel has as a leitmotiv the glitch (a reading error of a software), which materializes in all the details that run through the hotel, giving it a personality which juxtaposes the analogue with the digital era.
The ‘Aloft Madrid Gran Vía’ is projected as a social meeting point, with a new space with functional furniture at the entrance known as the Re: mix Lounge which will host musical performances. Also noteworthy is the Re: fuel restaurant where healthy food is served in a grab & go container format.
