INVIED, the Defense Ministry’s property & infrastructure arm has confirmed the sale of the site of their former air-force hospital in Madrid’s Concepción neighbourhood. The property has fetched €22.6 million and according to El Confidencial, the buyer has been Dedir Clinica which is owned by Welldone Investment owners of the Quiron Palmaplanas clinic in Palma de Mallorca.
The site has several buildings, which are those that remained after the hospital building was demolished in 2003 although they have been completely abandoned and boarded.
The state began the auction almost a year ago through Addmeet, a Catalonian auction portal, however, no offers were received. The site is classified as «dotational» although the use could be converted to private or residential use through a change of the General Plan of Urban Planning (PGOU) of Madrid.
The plot is located in a district known in Spanish as «Linear City» which was designed by architect Arturo Soria y Mata and it fronts the main street in the district, known as Arturo Soria street.
