Excem Capital Partners (YEXR) has made its stock market debut today at a price of €1.40 per share. The vehicle is 40% owned by the Hatwchell family via Excem Grupo. VGM Advisory Partners was the registered advisor and GVC Gaesco Beka acts as a liquidity provider.
The SOCIMI (Spanish REIT) focuses on the rental of rooms to students or young professionals and currently has a portfolio of 28 properties with 181 rooms.
The listed property fund seeks to grow its portfolio through the acquisition of properties in cities such as Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, Malaga, Bilbao where there is a «strong demand and low supply of this type of assets to lease», according to the vehicles investment brochure.
Excem Capital is chaired by Mr. David Hatchwell Altaras who worked in the Corporate Finance department at Goldman Sachs as well as in the Treasury Department at the Republic National Bank of New York, now HSBC. David was also involved in Sheldon Adelson’s attempt at creating Eurovegas, the European version of Las Vegas in Spain. He is a founding member of the Spain-Israel Chamber of Commerce, co-founder of ACOM (Acción para la Comunicación en Oriente Medio) and has been a member of YPO (Young President Organization) since 2005
