Going to Bogotá? Stay at Marriott’s Artisan D.C.

Two years ago, next November, Colombia’s OxoHotel Group announced the opening of Hotel Artisan D.C., the first Autograph Collection hotel in Colombia, which, as Marriott explains is part of a selection of handpicked boutique hotels that share a philosophy of attention to detail in their every expression. The Artisan DC Hotel was the second hotel in South America to become a part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection after the Hotel & Spa do Vinho located in Brazil’s southern wine region.

Strategically located in heart of Bogota’s financial district and walking distance from Bogota’s «Zona G» culinary district which offers some of the city’s finest dining, the modern 64-room Artisan DC Hotel is the ultimate urban boutique hotel, offering a unique, tailored experience and the perfect environment to relax after enjoying the Colombian capital’s music, art and theater offer as well as a unique setting to hold business rendez-vous.

The development was led by Juan Carlos Galindo, president of OXO Hotel, and Natalia Zora Tamayo, who after leading projects for 12 years in London is the hotel’s general manager. In Juan Carlos’ words, the team «take pride in providing our guests with the authentic, cultural and unique

Bogota experience. Through our partnership with the Autograph Collection, we can offer our guests even more –– including Marriott Rewards points for stays and an affiliation with other similar independent hotels throughout the world.” The hotel is also home to OSAKI, a modern Asian inspired restaurant led by Chef Adam Bustos, where guests are served in an impressive internal patio dining space.

Our Visit

The SpanishREIT.com team is currently having the chance to spend a week at the Artisan D.C. in Bogotá and the first thing that strikes the eye when one walks in through the elegant foyer is a beautiful chesterfield sofa, a true British classic that invites one to grab one of the many varied books on display in the library and bask in the warmth of the sofa’s classic rolled arms and deep buttoned back tufting… with a cup of tea if possible!

The check in staff was as friendly as can be, in what is a well known trait of Colombia’s wonderful people, and the check-in process was brief allowing us to go onto our room which was located on the 7th floor of the second tower. The hotel is comprised of two buildings, each one with a distinctive style and differing colour palette, both of which are rich in textures and eclectic details such as antique telephones and ancient photographic cameras.

We are staying in a Capital Superior Guest Room with a lush queen bed and energizing views over the financial district. The room has a walk-in shower with a beautiful arrangement of luxury bathing soaps and complements and pure cotton towels and dressing gowns.

According to the Hotel’s general manager, Natalia Zora, «the trend in the hotel industry worldwide is to strengthen the service without pretensions. This means that no matter where you come from or who you are, the hotel staff must always be willing to serve you with kindness and to meet all your demands». This is definitely the case in Bogota’s Artisan D.C.

As part of the Autograph Collection, the hotel is featured on www.Marriott.com and affiliated with the award winning Marriott Rewards program, where guests can earn points at more than 4,100 hotels in 79 countries and territories. As a member of the Autograph Collection, The Artisan DC Hotel taps into Marriott’s industry-leading global reservations system, and powerful consumer outreach through its leading technology and sales and marketing platforms which have helped build Marriott into one of the world’s leading hotel operators.
